Perfect Connection Golf Swing Review

The Perfect Connection Golf Swing is an online golf instruction site featuring CJ Goecks, a Golf Digest Top 20 in Texas Instructor.

Like most of the online golf schools, your purchase gets you a login to the membership site where you can access all of the video lessons.

Quality of Instruction: CJ is a solid instructor and the lessons include plenty of drills and demonstrations that make the swing easy to learn and implement.

An important thing to know is that the swing is a “specialty swing” specifically designed to be body-friendly and minimize pain. CJ is a certified golf biomechanist, and he draws on that training to make modifications to the traditional swing.

There are 2 major differences between the Perfect Connection swing and a more traditional swing:

1) it features a 3/4 back swing, meaning a smaller shoulder turn

2) the plane is very steep

We found that these 2 modification do indeed reduce stress, particularly on the lower back, but they also significantly reduced our power. We found the swing reduced our length off the tee by some 30-40 yards and we needed an extra 2 clubs with the irons to get the same distance.

Ease of Use: The online site is well laid out and the production quality of the videos is good. You are also given the option of downloading the entire lesson series which means if you have an iPad or laptop you can take the lessons with you to the driving range.

The bonus videos are good and diverse… with everything from how to hit longer drives to how to fix specific mistakes (slice, hook, etc).

Customer Reviews: The Perfect Connection has a loyal fan base both on the PCGS site and on facebook. Overall the reviews have been mostly positive.

Value: At $57, the Perfect Connection Golf Swing is a great value if you are looking for a body-friendly swing that will help you play around pain. The company also offers a 60 day money back guarantee.

Positives

  • A unique solution for golfers specifically focused on a “body-friendly” swing
  • Good customer reviews and a solid reputation in the industry

Negatives

  • The swing taught is a unconventional “specialty” swing with modifications designed to minimize pain. Good news if you are specifically looking for a way to play with less pain, but we wouldn’t recommend it for everyone

The Bottom Line

Overall we think PCGS is a great product for the golfer who has been sidelined by injuries and is willing to sacrifice distance to get back on the course. That is what they focus on and they do a good job with it.

Part of the reason there is all positive review is because they delete and blacklist you, if you have any negative feedback. The customer service is awful! Been waiting 3 weeks for a video and customer service has not responded once to any of the 5 e-mail sent. 3 phone calls to there 877 number and no response from that either. At this point definitely feel like I was scammed for the money.

I bought CJ signature series last year and was very pleased with the instructions. He’ll take you step by step and I spent the whole winter at the driving range to create muscle memory. My handicap has dropped from 21 to 14 this year. I was always referring back to my purchases on his site. Recently he put up a new website and now I can not retrieve any of my digital purchases. He has not responded to three separate emails. So I guess that I’m out the money that I spent on those digital video instructions. He’s a great instructor but it looks as though his business techniques are questionable.
